LYON COUNTY, IA (KELO) -- A $32 million renovation at a northwest Iowa school is nearing completion.
The construction at West Lyon Community School has been ongoing for about a year and a half, and the project affects just about every student.
Construction crews have been hard at work at West Lyon since April of last year.
"Progress is still continuing in our auditorium at this time and in our choir room, but other than that, our new weight room, our new wellness room, wrestling room, nine new classrooms, have been added and are now occupied," West Lyon School District superintendent Shawn Kreman said.
Once complete, the auditorium will have 700 seats. Other additions include locker rooms, a new kitchen, cafeteria and library.
