LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A top law enforcement official is no longer employed with the Nevada Attorney General's Office, days after the 8 News Now Investigators showed video of him arguing with a Las Vegas police officer and dropping an anti-gay slur.

A Metro police traffic officer stopped William Scott Jr., 62, near Cheyenne Avenue and Tenaya Way on Aug. 18. The officer cited Scott for holding his phone while driving. Scott was driving a state vehicle at the time, according to a citation.

The 8 News Now Investigators aired video of the stop on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Scott was "no longer employed" with the office as of Friday, Oct. 3, a spokesperson confirmed.
