SEEKONK, Mass. (WPRI) — A Rehoboth man was found guilty Monday of shooting his own father to death in 2021, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.
Following a month-long jury trial, Joseph "JD" Housley Jr., 24, was convicted of first-degree murder for killing 66-year-old Joseph Housley in Seekonk.
Police responded to the Greenbrier Village Apartments on the night of July 7, 2021, to find the elder Housley suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Housley Jr. is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 1.
"I am pleased the jury held the defendant accountable in murdering his own father," District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn, III said. "It demonstrates a very disturbed mind."
