SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The popular Greek restaurant Olympia Cafe is one step closer to staying on River Street.
The longstanding River Street restaurant Olympia Cafe was selected by the city in the bidding process to remain on the bottom level of the Thomas Gamble Building.
Earlier this summer patrons of the restaurant were fearful that the Greek Cafe would be pushed off River Street due to the leasing agreement.
A petition in support of the restaurant garnered over 6,000 signatures.
On Thursday’s Savannah City Council Agenda the council is set to vote to allow negotiations and approval for the restaurants new lease.
