KETTERING, Ohio — Five teams, including fourth-place Ottawa Hills, are within six shots of the lead halfway through the OHSAA Division II boys golf state tournament at NCR Country Club.
Monday’s first round of the 36-hole tournament saw Ottawa Hills shoot a 318, four shots behind leader Kettering Alter. Delaware Buckeye Valley is second at 316, with Warsaw River View third at 317. Gnadenhutten Indian Valley is fifth at 320.
Liberty-Benton is 11th at 346.
Ottawa Hills’ Walker Peterson and Charlie Swigart are tied for the low score from the Toledo area with 9-over-par rounds of 79. They are tied for 10th, seven shots behind Buckeye Valley’s Sam Reynolds.
