BEAVER, WV (WVNS) -- The first full week of October is National Fire Prevention Week, and fire departments across the country are putting out information on how you can keep yourself safe.
One of the departments getting active here locally is the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department in Raleigh County.
Will Davis, the Public Information Officer with the department, said right now they are concerned about brush fires and structure fires.
He said because of the lack of rain, there are a couple things you need to be careful of when dealing with fire right now.
"We need to be careful any time we're dealing with fire. If we're cooking in the backyard, we wanna make sure that the grill isn't too close to the house or the railing of the porch. If we're taking a walk through the woods, please don't
