MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WBTW) -- The Murrells Inlet community is mourning the loss of a special education aide hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver while walking on the sidewalk along 707.
Loved ones of Elizabeth Coss knew her as Liz and described her as a source of love 00 a giver and a devoted mother who was constantly making and doing things for others.
According to loved ones, Coss made a major impact on her community. Before working as an aide at St. James High School, she had a 30-year career as an attorney, often doing pro bono work.
Coss died on Sept. 30 around 4:30 p.m. after she was hit by a suspected drunk driver while walking near Highway 707. Authorities say the driver, Camerino Hernandez, went off the right side of the road and hit Coss. He is charged with felony DUI a
