BOSTON — Scoring was a glaring issue last season for the Bruins and was atop Marco Sturm’s list as something to address quickly.

Boston got tougher and bigger in free agency , but didn’t add another scorer to go with David Pastrnak and Morgan Geekie.

President Cam Neely realizes this, but doesn’t think that means the Bruins should be counted out.

“We do recognize we may have a little trouble scoring some goals, but I think defensively we can certainly play much better,” Neely said on Monday. “Obviously, (Charlie) McAvoy and Hampus (Lindholm) healthy are going to be a big part of our back end. But I think we’re going to be very tough out this year. We’re expecting to play a very hard every game.
