The Slidell Police Department's 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐎𝐮𝐭 on Oct. 2 drew plenty of visitors, and with all the law enforcement equipment on hand — from police dogs and two helicopters to SWAT equipment and police motorcycles — it was a special draw for kids of all ages.
Add to that some trick or treating, free pizza, food cooked up by the Slidell Police Association and offered by local businesses, Heritage Park was the happening place to be. Families could make a night of it without spending a dime. National Night Out is an annual event that allows police and other first responders to connect and visit at a pressure-free social event in the park.
