PORTAGE — A pregnant woman told police that moments after returning to her vehicle after pumping gas, she felt someone pushing her further inside and saying, "scoot over, don't scream and give me your keys," according to the incident report.

She looked up to see a man she did not know and while he pushed her hard, she screamed for help and he walked away, Portage police said.

Police were called and officers said the man in question is Billy Ray Muston, 53, of Portage, who said he thought the woman had stumbled while entering her vehicle and he was just attempting to help.

Police said surveillance footage of the incident backs up the woman's story and Muston was taken into custody and has been charged with robbery.

The incident in question occurred shortly before 9:30 a.m.
