SPRINGVILLE, Ala. ( WBRC ) - St. Clair County Schools said Tuesday morning that they were informed about a possible weapon on the campus of Springville High School.

“Out of an abundance of caution, the school system is working closely with local law enforcement to investigate,” St. Clair County Schools Superintendent Rusty St. John said in a statement. “There is no threat to students or staff, and school operations will resume as normal.”

Springville police said they are on the scene and that the situation was contained and that there are no reported injuries.

Officials confirmed they are actively investigating the situation.
