Police have launched an appeal for dash-cam footage after one of their vehicles was 'almost struck' by an HGV which allegedly entered a cordoned-off area.

The incident took place on Thursday, September 11, at 12.55pm on the A1 southbound near Haddington.

It is claimed by officers that the large lorry failed to stop at a road closure sign and entered a cordon, where it then took out several traffic cones before almost 'colliding with a police car.'

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
