GRAND BLANC TWP, MI – A portion of McCandlish Road that has been closed for more than a week following a mass killing at a Grand Blanc Township church has reopened.

Four people died and several others were injured when a shooting and fire took place on Sept. 28 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 4285 McCandlish Road, off Holly Road.

Police have said Thomas Jacob Sanford was the person responsible for the incident.

He was shot and killed by a Michigan Department of Natural Resources conversation officer and Grand Blanc Township police officer in a back parking lot of the church.
