GLADSTONE, Mo. -- The Clay County Sheriff's Office launched a new initiative to support victims of domestic violence, giving them a voice.

It's called "Project Silhouette."

Walking through the grocery store or library, you may see one of the life-sized cut outs with a silhouette telling the story of a real victim of domestic violence.

"My dad said that if anyone at school asked what happened, tell them I tripped and hit my head on a doorknob, causing the black eye."

These are real stories of victims of domestic violence.

Reported in Clay County just within the last year.

The victims remain anonymous -- their stories are very public, attached to five life-sized cut-outs -- three women, a man and a child.
