TELLER COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado State Patrol (CSP) says a DUI crash that occurred on August 3 is under investigation in Teller County.
According to troopers, the driver Chase Mikesell was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 24 near milepost 278 just before 9 p.m.
CSP said a Chevrolet Silverado was stopped at a construction zone traffic control flagger stop sign southwest on Highway 24 when Mikesell’s vehicle struck the back of the Silverado.
11 News has confirmed through public records that Chase Mikesell is the son of Teller County Sheriff Jason Mikesell.
CSP said Chase Mikesell was charged with driving under the influence, driving a vehicle with excessive alcohol content, careless driving and possession of a weapon while intoxicated.
