NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- The state Department of Transportation is preparing bridge repair work on South Carolina Highway 9 over U.S. 17, likely creating nighttime delays through North Myrtle Beach.

The project begins on Oct. 12, and work will take place Sunday through Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. through the end of the month. During this time, the northbound lane of S.C. 9 will be closed, with a detour in place for motorists.

Officials say delays are likely.
