RUSK, Texas — Communities across East Texas gathered Tuesday evening to celebrate National Night Out, a nationwide event designed to strengthen relationships between first responders and the people they serve.
In Rusk, Sergeant Jeremy Farmer with the Rusk Police Department said the event gives law enforcement a chance to connect directly with residents.
“National Night Out is a great opportunity for us as our law enforcement here in the community to get out, to meet the community, to meet some of the people we have here.”
Assistant Chief Cody Beamer with the Gallatin Fire Department added that teamwork is at the heart of the event.
“We all come together as a team. We work together as a team.”
