Many young adults are returning home to Weyburn for the long weekend and will spend some time at Flavours of Fall, a favourite food and beverage expo held every Thanksgiving weekend.

It’s a meaningful moment for local musician Alex Van Staveren, who will perform at the event with his band, SaskSteel. The group initially came together at the University of Saskatchewan College of Agriculture.

“I met the guys in Saskatoon at the College of Ag and we had a mutual passion for playing music and we got together and started playing four years ago this fall.”

Van Staveren says it wll be a significant performance for him, as it will allow friends and family to catch a performance closer to home.
