NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) - A motorcyclist was in critical condition as of Wednesday morning from a crash that happened the night before in New Britain.

Police said they responded to the intersection of Farmington Avenue and Cabot Street for the crash that involved both a motorcycle and a car.

They said it appeared that the driver of the car tried to turn onto Cabot Street while the motorcyclist headed northbound on Farmington Avenue.

Both vehicles collided around 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

The motorcyclist was found to be unconscious when emergency crews arrived.

Crews transported the motorcyclist to a hospital for emergency treatment.

City officials said the rider remained in critical condition as of Wednesday morning.

Police said they are still investigating what led up to the crash.
