A motorcyclist was injured in a crash in New Britain on Tuesday night and is in critical condition, according to city officials.

A car and the motorcycle collided around 10 p.m. at Farmington Avenue and Cabot Street.

The motorcyclist was unconscious when officers arrived and transported to a hospital for emergency treatment. As of early Wednesday morning, the person is in critical condition, according to police.

Police said it appears that the crash happened as the vehicle was trying to turn onto Cabot Street and the motorcycle was going north on Farmington Avenue.
