The Weyburn Police Service advised residents in advance of increased police presence and some unusual sounds coming from their building due to training exercises yesterday and last Thursday.

Sergeant Riley Ross explains they were training members in the use of a less lethal launcher, a tool recently made available to WPS officers.

“The less lethal launcher is a good tool for us to keep the community safe and the public safe. It's just another tool for us to be able to reach out to a little bit longer distances with a less lethal response. It's able to make us able to have a little bit more time and distance with individuals that we're dealing with..”
