FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WNCN) — Wake County School leaders officially cut the ribbon on the new Bowling Road Elementary in Fuquay-Varina on Wednesday.

The school recently opened in August to welcome students for the new school year.

Wake County Schools says the building is able to hold about 800 students.

Bowling Road is one of four new schools the Wake County School System opened this school year to help with the growth.

Superintendent Robert Taylor says the county is also assessing new schools.

"We have models that show what areas in the county, where it's gonna be needed, so that's part of what we do with the commissioners is plan that out well ahead of time so we know," said Taylor. "We're one of the fastest growing communities in the country so we absolutely have to have a plan abou
