MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – A leading biotech company is celebrating three decades in the Triangle area.

Biogen held an event at its campus in Morrisville on Thursday to commemorate the milestone, while announcing a $250,000 investment to Durham Technical Community College.

The funds will be used for the Novo Nordisk Life Sciences Center, a new, state-of-the-art facility designed to strengthen the life sciences talent pipeline in North Carolina.

North Carolina Governor Josh Stein and Lieutenant Governor Rachel Hunt attended Thursday’s event to highlight the state’s thriving biotech industry. Biogen CEO Chris Viehbacher and Durham Tech President JB Buxton also addressed employees and other area leaders.
