While some weather models have indicated the possibility of snow over the Thanksgiving long weekend, Environment and Climate Change Canada advises residents in Weyburn and the southeast to prepare for a wet, not a snowy, holiday.

A low-pressure system moving in from Montana is expected to bring precipitation to the province, but the cold air necessary for snow is unlikely to reach the southeastern corner.

"Looking at the various models that we use, it looks to me like the GFS model... I think it's bringing the cold air down a little too far south," said Natalie Hasell, a warning preparedness meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada. "The southeastern corner should just stay as rain, at least for the weekend."
