KENT, Ohio (WJW) -- The Kent Police Department is remembering a former officer who recently died in Ukraine after volunteering for their armed forces.
"It is with heavy hearts that we share the unbelievable news regarding the passing of Max Arnett," Kent police said in a statement.
Arnett, a 25-year-old Dover native, was a member of the department for more than a year, but eventually was moved to go to Ukraine to help with "defending their country," leaving in March.
The department said Arnett was killed in combat on Aug. 23 and that they are "heartbroken" and "in disbelief."
