Downtown Easton may soon offer visitors a new spot to relax in one of its busiest areas.

Easton City Council is considering a plan to add new seating and greenery to the southeast quadrant of Centre Square, part of an effort to make downtown more welcoming as new apartments, restaurants and hotels open nearby.

Landscape architect Laura Stedenfeld of Omnes presented the design during Tuesday’s city council committee meeting . She said the project’s goal is to create a comfortable, flexible public space where residents and visitors can sit, relax, and enjoy the city’s increasingly active downtown.

This comes over a year after the city proposed a makeover to other parts of Centre Square and the southeast quadrant
