BOULDER, Colo. (KKTV) - The family of the suspect in an attack on pro-Israel demonstrators in Boulder has filed a motion to be released from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody.
Mohamed Soliman is accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at a group of people demonstrating in support of Israeli Hostages on June 1. Soliman faces more than 100 charges related to the attack, including federal hate crime charges, and he was later charged with murder after one victim died from her injuries.
ICE took Soliman’s wife, Hayam El Gamal, 42, and their five children into custody on June 3. Courts filed an order the next day to prevent the deportation of the family, but a judge dismissed the hold , allowing deportation proceedings to continue.
