Leaving home for college is exciting, but for teens, the scariest part isn’t classes — it’s figuring out where they’ll belong. The SheKnows Teen Council opened up about what it feels like to make friends on campus, and how those connections become “found family” during one of the biggest transitions of their lives.

“I’m a theater student, so going to college, I kind of viewed it as another show — another cast of people I had to get to know. It was still awkward, but it wasn’t terribly hard,” Chloe, 18, explained about making new friends at college as a freshman.
