WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- The City of Waterbury is closing a stretch of road next week as it works to replace a water main underneath.

According to the city, Manville Street will be closed between Thomaston Avenue and Parker Street from Monday, Oct. 13 to Thursday, Oct. 16. The closure is part of the Thomaston Avenue Water Main Replacement Project.

Drivers are asked to plan ahead and expect delays if traveling through the area next week.

A water main break along Huntingdon Avenue caused a significant disruption to the city's water service in late September. City officials told News 8 a major contributing factor to the break was the age of the water infrastructure.
