Lori Mazanec, who has served as CEO of Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance, Neb., since 2016 and has been on medical leave since March, will not return to her role. Ms. Mazanec’s contract will expire at the end of November and will not be renewed, according to an Oct. 2 hospital news release. She played a key role in expanding services, improving access and fostering a culture of excellence.
“Lori has been a valued member of the BBGH family since 2001, and we are deeply grateful for her dedication and the positive impact she has made throughout her tenure,” the release said. Chief Medical Officer Brian Shelmadine, DO, PhD, has served as interim CEO since June 12 and will continue in the role “for the foreseeable future,” the release said.
