SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Around 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced a form of physical violence by a partner in the U.S.. That's why raising awareness for what to look out for is important.
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which is the reason a booth was set up at Southeast Technical College.
"We're creating some tables out here just with information for our students, our staff, our faculty, anybody that wants information not only for themselves, then maybe they know a friend that needs some help and they want to know what they can do to help," Compliance Officer and Title IX Coordinator, Jim Larson said.
At the booth, they are talking with students to let them know the warning signs for dating and domestic violence.
