PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Property tax bills have been mailed out across Perry County and collections are now underway, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Even if residents have not received their bill in the mail yet, the Sheriff’s Office can look up individual tax information. The office is encouraging early payment to take advantage of available discounts.
“If you pay your property tax bill in October, you get a 2% discount,” said Perry County Sheriff Joe Engle. “Face value for the month of December and as you go into January, you get a 5% penalty and then after January, it kicks into a 21% penalty. So the system set up to reward you to pay them earlier to get that discount.”
Taxpayers have multiple payment options available, including online payments, mail-in payments, or visiting
