FRONT ROYAL — The Humane Society of Warren County’s thrift store, Pick of the Litter, opened the doors to a bigger and busier location on Main Street Friday.
The new 4,000-square-foot space at 113 E. Main Street is about 600 feet larger than the store’s former location on Commerce Avenue. The move is already paying off, said Kayla Wines, executive director of the agency.
“I don’t think we were prepared to be as busy as we were on opening day. It was rocking in here. It was wonderful. That kind of surprised everybody,” said Wines. “We did more income in that single day than we’ve ever done before. We’ve already noticed more foot traffic.”
