ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Dozens of residents from the Crystal Spring area gathered Wednesday to talk about ways they can help address the homelessness issue in the area.
City leaders such as Mayor Joe Cobb and Chief of Police Scott Booth were in attendance for the meeting and gave updates on different programs the city is using to cut back on the homelessness numbers.
People in attendance hope those programs will make their neighborhood safer.
“We want our citizens to be safe and we want our businesses to prosper and not be vandalized and robbed. And, you know, we don’t want our citizens to be hurt.
