WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Waterbury man is facing animal cruelty charges after police said they found 21 dead animals and 17 animals inside a trailer and an adjacent school bus.
Johann Delgado-Lopez, 37, was charged with 31 counts of cruelty to animals.
This comes after police received an anonymous complaint on Tuesday reporting that a woman, who has not been charged yet, was living in a trailer with numerous animals, alive and dead. Authorities said when they arrived at the scene just before 5 p.m., they immediately noticed a "strong pungent" odor coming from a 2006 Cedar Creek trailer.
Police said Delgado-Lopez and the woman came out of the trailer and allegedly told officers they had cats and dogs inside their trailer. They told police that one dead dog was inside the trailer and
