The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning at 2:28 a.m. on Thursday valid from 11 p.m. until Friday 9 a.m. for Southern Worcester as well as Middlesex, Hampden, Hampshire, Norfolk, Bristol and Plymouth counties.

The weather service says, "Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 25 degrees expected."

"Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing," explains the weather service. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."
