MAINE, USA — Maine’s fall colors are nearing their peak just in time for the Indigenous Peoples Day holiday weekend, according to the latest fall foliage report from the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.
The department’s fifth 2025 Fall Foliage Report of the season indicates high color change — between 70 and 100 percent — throughout the state, with moderate to high leaf drop ranging from 50 to 70 percent.
"Maine is approaching peak foliage conditions heading into the holiday weekend," Gale Ross, the state’s fall foliage spokesperson, said. "Vibrant fall colors are unfolding across the state, especially in the central, coastal, and southern regions, where leaves remain plentiful and intact.
