An updated freeze warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 2:37 p.m. valid from 11 p.m. until Friday 9 a.m. for Oneida, Onondaga, Tompkins, Madison and Cortland counties.

The weather service adds to anticipate, "Temperatures will fall into the mid 20s to lower 30s tonight into early Friday morning."

"Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing," states the weather service. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."
