BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — A man accused of sexually abusing a child on tribal land in northwestern North Dakota has pleaded guilty and will be sentenced in federal court later this year.
Vincent Hunts Along Sr. admitted to one count of sexual abuse of a minor stemming from incidents that occurred in 2020 in Mountrail County. The abuse took place on tribal land, placing the case under federal jurisdiction.
Hunts Along Sr. was originally charged with four counts, including aggravated sexual abuse of a child. His guilty plea means the case will not go to trial.
He faces up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and will be required to register as a sex offender.
Sentencing is scheduled for December in U.S. District Court in Bismarck.
