A 16- mile mill and overlay project, directed by the Kansas Department of Transportation, is expected to begin tomorrow on K-99 in Lyon County. According to KDOT, drivers should expect a 15-minute delay in travel.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane and directed by a pilot car and flaggers while the site is active. Construction work will take place during daylight hours Monday to Friday and as needed on Saturdays. KDOT encouraged drivers to be aware while driving through sites and follow all posted signs.

The project starts at the southern city limits of Emporia and ends near the Lyon County and Greenwood County line. APAC-Kansas Inc. Shears Division, of Hutchinson, is the main contractor of the $3.6 million project. The mill and overlay is expected to finish by the end of November, c
