The National Weather Service issued a coastal flood watch at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday valid from Sunday 8 a.m. until Monday 6 p.m. for Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens as well as Westchester, Suffolk and Nassau counties.

The weather service states, "One to two feet of inundation above ground level possible in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."

"A coastal storm may bring moderate or greater coastal flooding beginning as early as Sunday," describes the weather service. "If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property."
