STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A powerful coastal storm is set to impact Staten Island on Sunday and Monday, bringing potentially damaging winds and significant rainfall, according to the National Weather Service.

Residents should prepare for strong northeast winds and heavy precipitation that could cause minor flooding and coastal impacts.

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for the area, with potential wind gusts up to 60 mph expected Sunday afternoon through Sunday night. Rainfall amounts are forecast between 1.5 to 3 inches, which could lead to minor nuisance flooding, especially in low-lying areas.
