PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Police are searching for a suspect after a man was shot near downtown Phoenix early Thursday morning.

The shooting was reported near 11th and Taylor streets , north of Van Buren Street, around 1 a.m. A Phoenix Police lieutenant on scene told Arizona’s Family that a man was shot at least once. He was rushed to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities searched the area but did not find the alleged shooter. Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and canvass the crime scene. A description of the suspect was not yet available.

11th Street from Polk Street to Taylor Street is expected to be closed throughout the early morning. There is no estimated reopening time.
