RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Construction on what will become Raleigh's tallest residential building is officially underway.

City leaders and developers put on their hard hats to flip the ceremonial dirt at Thursday's groundbreaking ceremony for Highline Glenwood.

"It's not every day that a project comes along that will be this type of generational project with the impact that Highland Glenwood is going to have," said Randy Finchera, vice president of commercial services for Barnhill Building Group, the project's general contractor.

The $200 million luxury tower will feature more than 300 apartments and businesses, bringing a mix of living, dining, and retail to one of the cit'’s most popular entertainment districts.
