Pettis County prosecutors have closed the case alleging sexual misconduct by former Sedalia Councilman Tom Oldham, who resigned in April of 2025 following the allegations .
Oldham represented Sedalia's First Ward and resigned April 25. He was first elected to the seat in 2019.
Sedalia Police Chief David Woolery informed the city about the allegations on April 23, and Mayor Andrew Dawson then personally requested Oldham's resignation from the Sedalia City Council, according to the statement.
"After confirming with law enforcement that my actions would not interfere with their investigation, I personally went to Mr. Oldham and asked for his resignation," Dawson said in the statement. "There could be no hesitation; the families of Sedalia and the people we serve have to come first."
