TYLER, Texas — October is Diabetes Awareness Month, and the Tyler Type One Diabetes Association is hosting a 5K run, walk, or ride to raise awareness and funds.

Tyler Type One is a support group for families affected by Type 1 diabetes. The organization offers free services to its members. And the costs of the programs and medical supplies they give out are not cheap.

The Run for One 5K is the group’s biggest fundraiser, helping to assist families in need of supplies. So we asked what it’s like to receive help from the Tyler Type One group.
