COLUMBIA, S.C. — Cooler air continues to settle across the state as gusty northeast winds persist through today. A lake wind advisory remains in effect with sustained winds between 10 and 15 mph and gusts over 20 mph possible, especially near area lakes. Boaters should use extra caution, as choppy waters and rough conditions are likely.

A developing coastal low off the Southeast shoreline will help maintain the breeze while drawing some moisture inland. This setup could bring a few light showers, mainly across the eastern Midlands later today and tonight, though most areas will stay dry.

Increased clouds and cooler air will keep highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s, with overnight lows remaining mild in the upper 50s due to persistent cloud cover and wind.
