KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Multiple lanes of Interstate 29, south of Northwest 64th Street, are closed Friday morning after a police chase ended in a crash in the Northland.

According to a Platte County Sheriff's Office spokesman, the chase started as a possible stolen vehicle out of Kansas after 8 a.m. Friday.

Platte County became involved in the pursuit at about 8:20 a.m. on 45 Highway near Weston, Missouri, according to the sheriff's office.

The chase ended in a crash, and one person is in custody, the sheriff's office said.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes of I-29, but it is affecting traffic in both the southbound and northbound lanes of the interstate.
