KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Three people are in the hospital after a wrong-way crash near the Country Club Plaza Thursday night.

According to Kansas City police, about 10 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a crash with critical injuries at 51st and Ward Parkway.

Police said a gray Chevrolet Impala was traveling north in the southbound lanes of Ward Parkway when the driver hit a red Chevrolet Impala head-on. The red Impala was driving south.

The driver and a front-seat passenger of the red Impala were taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries, according to KCPD.
