BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) - With the federal government shutdown now expected to continue into next week, military installations across North Dakota are preparing for both short-term disruptions and potential long-term consequences.

To help those affected, Job Service North Dakota has released a list of state and national resources available to furloughed federal employees and military families.

At Minot Air Force Base, officials confirmed Friday that approximately 600 civilian employees are currently furloughed due to the lapse in federal funding. These workers are on temporary unpaid leave, and while some services have been affected, base leaders say the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing remain fully operational.
